Evening. Sadly remains boarded up and with For Sale signs in place. Wonder what the future holds here.

15;00 visit. En-route home, sad to see this once busy pub, with accommodation block to the side, all boarded up, as reported in the Winter Marsh Mash. Outlook is bleak with "redevolpment" planned.

Early evening and we were originally the only customers in the pub, although a few people turned up later for a quiz evening. We were disappointed at first to see all the pump clips turned round, but a new cask was put on for us.
Marston's - Wychwood Hobgoblin IPA (was Ruby Beer, was Hobgoblin) | 4.50 | | First pints from a new cask, and the only Hobgoblin that I have ever really enjoyed. |

A group of seven of us had just walked from Snargate to Appledore Railway Station. It was about 3:40pm and, unusually the pub was open, and we decided to wait for our train in the bar. Not surprisingly as the pub is not normally open in the afternoons we were the only customers. We got a good welcome from the lady behind the bar who told us about the pub's forthcoming beer festival. There has been a minor alteration to the pub since my last visit, the bar has been divided in to two areas with a wood panelled partition to provide separate eating and drinking areas. There were two ales on offer, but I can't remember what the other one was.
Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | | In very good condition, delicious. |

A miserable wet evening, but fortunately this pub is adjacent to the railway station so we did not get soaked. We sat in the corner where the doors used to be and reminisced about the days when we used to drink up and exit from them when the level crossing gates started to close.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Good distinctive Harvey's taste, not too sweet. |
St Austell - Tribute | 4.20
Sharp's - Doom Bar | 4.00 | Not Tried

After the poor Hog's Back beer at Doris' I came here for a quickie before the train. Quite quiet.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Tasted of cleaning fluid. |
St Austell - Tribute | 4.20 | Not Tried

I met up with Phil Lowry from Beermerchants.com at Doris', so I thought that I would check this pub out. My interest was confirmed when I saw a sign outside advertising Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter was on. I sat at the bar and talked about Europe and the channel tunnel.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | The first pint I had was a little cold, but the second was spot on. |
St Austell - Tribute | 4.20 | Not Tried

Had 5 mins to spare waiting for the train back to Ashford so we popped in for a swift half. What a huge pub this is. Can't remember much about it other than that
St Austell - Tribute | 4.20 | | Tasted like good tribute but to be honest I was in a hurry and downed it in one so I can't quite remember what it tasted like |
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried
