Umm, probably the best pub in Norwich. Very friendly barman, great beer line up and very well served beers. The interior is lovely too.

13:50 3rd stop. Most of the party stayed in the back bar whilst we sat in the front bar with the landlord of the Compleat Angler. I really rate the front bar here, apart from the modern counter, I think it is a excellent example as to how Victorian public bar would have looked.

First class back street local, as a pub should be. Taster offered. Bar billiards match in the corner, and their curry arrived whilst they were playing!. 10 beers on pump. Well worth searching this out, not far from town centre at all.

19:30 Between the carol service at the Cathedral and a curry in the Spice Lounge. Busy in the back bar, quiet in the front bar. A touch of serendipity. I had received a 'phone call earlier in the day asking if I had any photographs of people playing cards or dominoes in a pub to illustrate an article on pub games. Sadly not. Two young men came into the pub whilst we were there and asked for a pack of cards. I asked if I could photograph them playing. Request granted, problem solved.
