16:30 Came here for the IPA festival. A day early. Damn. It looked really good as well. To correct an earlier entry about the pub's history. It has always been a pub, new build 1974, originally called the Wherry.

13:50 Much to my surprise I haven't been here since I started contributing to this site. Very quiet, our group more than doubled the clientele. Excellent value rolls at a pound a pop. The breweriana on display rivals the original Fat Cat.

Now known as the Fat Cat Brewery Tap. Busy on a Saturday lunchtime.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Adnams - Diamond Ale4.10GoodPale, sweetish beer with an increasing honey flavour which lingers in the finish. My score 15/20.

Ex community centre hall now with the Fat Cat brewery upstairs. Bar downstairs with stone flag floor, solid wood bar with 8 handpumps and beers on gravity too. Lovely pub with a slightly nautical feel.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Oakham - Bishops Farewell4.60ExcellentGravity. Not perfect aroma, but the rest was excellent.
Fat Cat - Fat Cat Bitter3.80GoodAmber, disappearing head. Pleasing perfumed hop aroma. Lacks a bit of condition. But has decent citrus on end, tangerine on finish. Actually a very nice session bitter in the citrus style.
Harviestoun - Bitter & Twisted3.80AcceptableLacks intensity of flavour.

With all the roaps and pine this pub had a nautical feel to it. Coming in the main entrance I thought I was entering a library with all the books stacked up. The main building seems to be a shed and the brewery is upstairs.
