The 2nd of the two Woodman pubs in the area and the sister of the one in Eastcote. One of our group was just leaving by the time we got to this one but was wearing the right style hat as all the bar staff were also wearing their cowboy hats to go with a live folk band playing outside at the front when we arrived. A warm welcome ensued and prompt service and after our bus got us almost here as terminated at Ruislip Lido, missing the stop for the pub due to dreaded roadworks outside the pub. A lovely stylish pub interior rated by CAMRA as two star = a pub interior of very special national historic interest. Sadly not yet a listed pub. The Woodman retains an intact two-room interior dating from c.1959 with the most interesting room being the lounge bar whose interior fittings are unchanged since then. Notable customers included two donkeys whose photographs adorn some of the interior walls.

Mid afternoon busy with folk drinking the ales on offer. The lounge bar was closed for a private function so we sat in the public bar on the left side. Interior looks much different to HSB's photos 4 years ago with modernist wooden floors and panelling prevalent with not a hint of formica anywhere.

13:30 Having had a ride on the Ruislip Lido railway we came here as our first Heritage Pub of the day. Change of ownership has so far only resulted in the revealing of a painted Courage and Woodman on the bar back in both bars by removing the pumpclip display. However, as a customer confirmed, there are plans to replace the Formica in the public bar as one panel is damaged.

12:45 Second visit of the day looking at potential pubs to add to the CAMRA Heritage website. We were suitably impressed by this one. Four locals in the public bar, funeral party had booked the Saloon.
