Early evening ride out to this CAMRA listed heritage pub. It was idyllic, if you haven’t been then put it on your wish list. Busy with most people outside taking in the coastal views. Service via a hatch in the corridor. I had a quick look at the main room, open fire on the go; a smaller snug; and the museum! Unfortunately I didn’t make a note of the other 3 ales on - but I recall that they were interesting.

13:00 visit. When in Dorset a visit to this pup is a must, its a real gem!! As i line up in the corridor to get to the bar or should I say hatch :) I smell the distinctive aroma of hot pies and on a wet miserable October day a homemade cheese and onion pie will go down well with a pint of ale or home pressed cider :)

Great pub. Jane said it was the best she's been in (ever). Friendly and cosy. What a gem.

Brewered to celebrate the family owning the Square & Compass's 100 year ownership of the pub. A copper gold beer. Lots of marigold hops
The pub is found in Worth Matravers, Dorset, BH19 3LF.
Wonderful old pub with sea views. There's no real bar with beer served through a hatch in the corridor. At one end of the pub is a museum and at the other an atmospheric drinking room. In between is a small side drinking room. At 2021 is one of just 5 pubs to have been in all of the CAMRA Good Beer Guides (since the first in 1974) which is, indeed, some achievement.
We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 13 different beers and tried 9 of them.
