Quite a Bohemian feel to this interesting old pub which I don’t think I have ever entered before.

Crouch Vale - Brewers Gold4.00Not TriedI had to return this as it smelled and tasted of vinegar. Replaced without fuss and immediately taken off sale.

The pub is found in Islington, Central London, N1 8LN.

A street corner pub on Essex Road that has retained a couple of significant features. Although rebuilt in around 1830, there is a stunning wood and stone fireplace which survives from the earlier building on the site and dates from the early seventeenth century. The ceramic ceiling tiles above the bar counter are also notable. The pub has a Grade II listing. Now a single ground floor bar with a first floor function room.

We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried 1 of them.
