I think my first visit since it has changed hands over the last year. Not a lot has changed inside in terms of the railway-themed artwork and artefacts on display and attributed to its close proximity to the station. Same good selection of real ales on and for my early evening visit and last of this outing to Broadstairs and not overly busy to be seated and move around in. Prompt and friendly service from the barman.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brunswick - Red Car - Red IPA4.80ExcellentVery good head and lacing on this Derby-based, north-east of Burton-upon-Trent, red IPA and lasting. A very malty, caramel-infused, first hit. A dry bitterness gently rising up and aided by its Chinook and Summit hoppiness and lingering on. Possibly my first tasting of a Brunswick ale and a pleasure it was. The brewery has been going since 1991 and I see they do a good one for the Mind the Gap micro as here: Railway Porter, a classic English black porter at 4.3%.

Early evening and time for a pint before our 19.00 nearby restaurant booking. Many gathered around the bar leaving a pick and choose option of the many availble seats in the main area.

Retail premises conversion into the micropub style at the top end of the High Street near the railway station. Opened officially on 15th July 2016 with a soft opening the day before. Cask ales and ciders / perries sold on gravity dispense from a chilled cabinet on the upper level behind a bar counter. The lower level has tables and chairs with a couple of settees in the bay window. Operated by the same people that have an interest in the nearby award winning Yard of Ale. Railway themed including interest adorning the walls and a real length of mainline rail acting as a foot rail at the bar counter upstairs. Thanet CAMRA branch Cider Pub of the Year 2017.

We have visited this pub 90 times, seen 95 different beers and tried 53 of them.
