Lunch time visit. I paid £4.90 for my pint because I did not think about asking for CAMRA discount, thankfully the beer was very good.

The pub is found in Bloomsbury, Central London, WC1B 3BA.

An historic pub in Great Russell Street, founded in the 18th century as the Dog & Duck. They probably couldn’t believe their luck when the British Museum opened across the road, and the pub’s name was swiftly changed to Museum Tavern. Once partitioned into five rooms, it is now a single room, with another at first floor level. Obviously, it picks up a good tourist trade, but the pub is well worth a visit for its surviving historic features. These include a very solid wooden bar back containing cut glass advertisements, and a panelled ceiling.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 8 different beers and tried 2 of them.
