Evening, quiet. The pub has had an internal makeover - dark green walls, subdued lighting in the main bar, more, smaller tables. We notice it is now calling itself a “gastro pub”. Beer expensive and ordinary. Bridge is now bereft of a proper boozer I fear with the Plough and Harrow closed, the Bridge Arms (sic) a part-time restaurant and The Pig for DFLs. Time for a micro in the village?
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Got a full pint! But rather lifeless. |
Sharp's - Doom Bar | 4.00 | Not Tried

Mid afternoon post walk pint with family. We managed to get a table - but was heaving and looked to have been even busier earlier. Just the Harvey’s on pump.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Full pint - without asking for a top up! |

Heaving. Where did all these people come from. Most were having afternoon lunches and doing secret-Santa, from what I could see. Unsurprisingly, service was a little slow. Friendly pub though.

Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Greene King - Hardys & Hansons Rocking Rudolph | 4.20 | Not Tried

My wife took me out for lunch. Very good food. Shame about the attitude to full pints here, it seems to be a consequence of neither landlords being real ale drinkers.
Kirkstall - Kirkstall Pale Ale | 4.00 | | Full pint, good hoppy flavour, top condition. |
Sharp's - Doom Bar | 4.00 | | The quality of the beer was not bad although rather sweet - but at £5.20 for a short measure this was disappointing. |

Sunday lunchtime. Busy with eaters and lager drinkers. Poor show on the ale front. Ghost Ship pump clip turned round, Pride ran out and Harvey’s flat.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Bright enough but rather flat. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | | First pint ok - second pint soupy but changed before it was served. |

The football was on, Wexham vs Shefield Wednesday. Most people seemed to be watching that.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Really vey nice |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Adnams - Ghost Ship | 4.50 | Not Tried

Sunday lunch cycle meeting. Not as busy as I expected. The young bar person poured us full pints every time (something the landlords could learn from here). A second, rather good Ruby beer from Greene King on, can’t remember the name, new to me.
Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried

Sunday lunch - very busy but we had good service and a pleasant meal.
St Austell - Tribute | 4.20 | | Couldn’t fault this - and a full pint from each of the landlords. |
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried

Over for a cycle group meeting. Festive feel and a very welcoming wood burning stove. I like this place for food and ambience - just would like one of the landlord’s to take a bit more interest in the beer. They were both behind the bar when I took my very short pint back for a top-up and got a sarcastic response and a reluctant top-up.
Adnams - Ghost Ship | 4.50 | | General view was that this wasn’t at its best. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | | The beer was in good condition- however I am marking this poor due to the three-pint round being the best part of half-a-pint short and the sarcastic response to a request for a top-up. |
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried
