Late lunchtime visit - lots of cars in but no-one in the bar. Both pump clips turned round - “no real ales on?” I enquired.
“I can do you a bottle of Doombar” came the reply.
I did chuckle on my way out.

Final pub of the day and just time for a quick one before closing. This pub has changed considerably since my last visit when it was one of the few unchanged Whitbread Fremlins pubs that had the added benefit of not having converted to top pressue dispense. It must have been over forty years ago but subsequent alterations and food advertisements just put me off returning. I was pleasantly surprised to see a fair range of ales on, and judging by the pump clips on display they must have had a fair selection over the years. I sat and reminisced about what the pub used to be in the 1970s.
