Quiet couple in the beer garden on a sunny thursday afternoon.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Mordue - Workie Ticket4.50GoodRuby coloured. Malty chocolate notes. Lasting off white head. Slightly over bitter/sour aftertaste. Decent.
Captain Cook - Red Bay4.00GoodDark ruby in colour. Malty with very long hoppy aftertaste. A light quaffable ale for its dark colour. Nice.

Very quiet. Three ales on which all ran out at the same time and were not replaced.

Absolutely jam packed - standing 8 deep at the bar. Left before we could even see what beers were on.

Disappointing. Of two ciders and one perry on hand pump none were available but clips were not turned round. Only one real ale - the others had run out earlier but were not replaced. Poor showing from what is usually a reliable pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Captain Cook - Slipway4.20AcceptablePoured an attractive mid-orange. Little aroma and slightly cloying flavour. Maybe 2.1/2*, really.

The pub had entered into the Halloween spirit. Lots of fancy dress and good humour. Draught perry from Weston's available.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ossett - Silver King4.30ExcellentReally enjoyed this very light straw coloured ale. Light floral aroma and crisp, dry hoppy flavour with just enough body for mouthfeel. Served in perfect condition.
Captain Cook - Zombie Ale4.50GoodDark brown ale with toffee apple flavours. Sweetness balanced by full body and lingering, lightly hopped finish.
Wentworth - WPA4.00Not Tried

The pub is found in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, TS1 3BZ.

Located in Southfield Road. Modernised, split level, open plan building near the university. Sky Sports and music which becomes louder as the evening progresses. This pub is permanently closed. Bought for University Campus. But good food and excellent selections of ales usually from micros make this one of the few destination pubs for Teesside drinkers.

We have visited this pub 15 times, seen 29 different beers and tried 16 of them.
