We'd been selling plants at Badlesmere's Medieval Fair:It was very hot and I needed a pint.Much banter concerning Bob Dylan and leather hotpants:two subjects to pique one's curiosity.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Red Top3.80ExcellentA great example of a solid english bitter.
Mighty Oak - Captain Bob3.80ExcellentVery flavoursome mid brown session bitter:great East Anglian malt, tempered by esoteric hops:seaweed and gooseberries.Grand stuff.

Surprisingly I've never been here before. I drive past it quite often on my way back to my parents but I've never actually been in. I think I always used to think this was the Ringlestone Inn (which clearly it's not). Don't know why I thought that. Anyway, it's a nice pub. Kind of L-shaped and nicely done out with a pool table at one end. The garden is large with a big copper beach tree.
BeerABVScoreNotes
JW Lees (see also Lees) - Scorcher4.00AcceptablePale orange yellow. Very thin head. Smelt of wet slat and clay. Sharp citrus orange bite. Tangy with short lived finish.

August Bank Holiday Monday and my 4th pub. They were having a BH festival. Unfortunately I missed the beer festival part but they still had several tents in the garden selling fortunes and jewellery. Also tent hosting live music. I was there when a 4 piece Ghanaian band were playing and very good they were too.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter3.70GoodExcellent session beer and refreshed me after my cycling. Good yeasty flavour with nice floral hops. Not quite as good as the pint in the Sun Inn
