Visits Details
31 Jul 2017 (Philip Pirrip)
Mid to late evening visit. Just another couple came in. One wonders if the locals had blown their heads and sated their appetites on the weekend's IPA local pub trail with its generally upper 5, 6 and 7%ers.
Furnace - 'C' Bomb | 6.20 | | |
Three Blind Mice - Upside Down IPA (collaboration with Baker's Dozen) | 7.40 | | Excellent nightcap despite being a long way from home! |

Arbor Ales - Limelight | 4.50 | Not Tried
Wild Beer Co. - Wild in the Cask | 3.60 | Not Tried

Gene Pool - Primordial Ooze | 4.70 | | Dry and nourishing |
RedWillow - Weightless Mosaic | 4.20 | | Too citrus for me |

Fownes - The Pale King | 4.00 | Not Tried
29 Jan 2017 (Philip Pirrip)
Mid evening visit. Dogends of the town-wide annual Beermuda Triangle Beer Festival with no CAMRA discount on the festival ales. Good crowd in and had a good debate about the future of CAMRA with the new local CAMRA magazine editor who was drinking something from a Beavertown kiddie's tin.
James & Kirkman - Commodore Bitter | 3.60 | | Average brew |
Brew York - The Hoptimist Double IPA (collaboration with North Riding Brewery) | 9.10 | | Quick half for the road to North Gate station, a 16 minute hike |
Ferry Ales (F.A.B.) - Witham Shield | 4.50 | | Hopeless unmemorable pumpclip saying only F.A.B as brewery name, won't help future recognition |
Silver Brewhouse (formerly Raw) - Angels Bay Best Bitter (collaboration with Brew Bay) | 4.20 | Not Tried
Langwith - Stumpy's Bitter | 3.80 | Not Tried
North Riding Brewpub - Paralyzed | 7.40 | Not Tried
Black Flag - Endless Summer | 3.80 | Not Tried

12 Dec 2016 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening until shortly before 11.
Brewster's - Sarah Guppy | 4.80 | | Last half pint out of cask, gratis. Berry notes. Named after a Victorian lady with suspension bridge invention proclivities |

North Riding Brewery - German Cascade | 4.00
Rat - Bearded Rat | 4.00 | Not Tried
Salamander - Porter in a Pear Tree | 4.80 | Not Tried
02 Oct 2016 (Philip Pirrip)
Mid to late evening. Lots going on here and 3 of the 4 tapsters were drinking or serving on their own premises.
Sperrin Brewery Victory Beers (Lord Nelson) - Head Hunter | 3.80 | | 4½* Punched well above its weight and had astounding flavour. Wasn't meant to be on yet but a pint was poached |
Navigation - Eclipse | 4.40
Pheasantry - Orange Pheasant | 6.00 | | Time forced me to drink this excellent full bodied meal faster than it deserved |
Kelham Island (probably brewed by Thornbridge now) - Cabby Chino | 4.00 | Not Tried
Black Iris - Mogs's Pale | 4.30 | Not Tried
01 Aug 2016 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening. Small crowd by bar only but conversation was good enough to weaken resolve to catch a particular train.
Coach House - The League of Experimental Brewers Issue No. 1 American Pale Ale (collaboration with 4T's) | 4.20 | | Unusually good for a Coach House brew |
Imperial - Baxond-Ale Berry Pink IPA | 4.80 | | Intriguing taste but did not want a second |
Tipsy Angel (latterly a cuckoo at 4T's) - Angel's Mild | 3.80 | Not Tried
Milestone - Summer Lovin | 3.90 | Not Tried | New style pumpclip with hardly a jolt of brand recognition. Who tricks them into wasting money on rebranding? |
Atlantic - Blue | 4.80 | Not Tried

Evening. Several groups in here, one playing cards and another jamming on their guitars.
Arbor Ales - Hoploader | 4.00
Vibrant Forest - Kaleidoscope | 6.50 | | Heavily hazy, excuse being it was unfined. Good hit though, I knew I'd had it after I left |
Ghost - Reaper | 4.40 | | OK, unspectacular |
Mad Squirrel (formerly Red Squirrel) - London Porter | 5.00 | Not Tried

North Riding Brewery - Rum & Raisin Dark Mild | 4.30 | | Had the flavours but not at all moreish |
21 Feb 2016 (Philip Pirrip)

Wantsum - Thunderbolt | 6.80
