Nice and quiet on a Sunday afternoon. Only 3 customers, including me. I sat with my Ian Rankin book and read whilst quaffing some pints of Master Brew and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

After a long hard week, I stopped off here on my way home after work for a couple. Banter at the bar was quite good with only a handful of people in. Sat near the open door staring out onto the ring road with my thoughts
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Early Bird4.30AcceptableBit dull and lifeless to be honest, not as good as it was on Monday when I was here. Sheps yeast in evidence but not the crispness of the hops. I was sat reading my mail listening to the jazz. Very relaxing

I have been trying to get Early Bird since it came out this year and finally I found it here. Mid afternoon on Easter Monday with a handfull of customers. Good jazz on the stereo with music/art pictures on the walls.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Early Bird4.30GoodCopper colour with thin off white head. Sheps yeast and resiny hop aroma. Some tangerine zest. Good in mouth with more hoppy zesty orange citrus fruit. Good dryness on end with some malty juicyness. Good beer.

Thin crowd enjoyed 2 accomplished acoustic guitarists doing covers. 2 handpulls on with Shepherd Neame Master Brew and Porter and a range of Sheps bottles.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Porter4.80ExcellentVery dark brown/black, no head. Sour, molasses, dark syrup, bitter choc, espresso coffee and some smooth dark fruit. Good
