The fortunes of this pub have certainly improved since I was last in. A bustling early evening trade; mostly commuters arriving off the London trains. I’m actually going the other way.

Fairly busy and increasing in numbers as the deafening music drove people away from the beer festival at the Spa Valley Railway.
Isfield - Toad in the Ale | 4.80 | | This is the correct name for this beer. A porter style beer, dark brown but unfortunately brewed with crystal malt giving a sweetish but tart and cloying character to the beer. Finish is dry. My score 14/20. |
