Abigale - Gloriously Gold4.10GoodBig hit of American citrus hops in the aroma and taste. This continues through to the finish with a good malt base. My score 15/20.

Canterbury Brewers - Loco IPA3.90ExcellentExcellent pale bitter with good crisp citrus hop character and some malt balance. Fruity finish. My score 16/20.
Nelson - Temeraire4.00AcceptablePale bitter lacking much hop character but with a rather musty, yeasty malt flavour. My score 13/20.

1330. En route to the Foundry so had to check it out. Not a bad little pub, very old building, a bit run down here and there. 4 ales on though and a value for money food menu noted too.

Nelson - Black Jack5.40AcceptableDark brown porter style beer with a roast/burnt toast character. Quite bitter but not very hoppy. My score 14/20.
Nelson - Admiral IPA4.00AcceptableRather hazy with some hoppiness lurking in there. Rather bitter with a dry finish. My score 12/20 with B for quality.

Located on a side street off the lower High Street, this pub is popular with students and locals alike. Juke box is normally pretty good and there are normally a couple of real ales on as well as real cider. The pub is quite small so can feel cosy on busy days/evenings
