My first visit here since this pub was acquired by Fullers in 2011. Nothing much seems to have changed except the prices, which have rocketed. Still a classic London boozer.

Old-style pub in the heart of Covent Garden with loads of seating upstairs. Decent range of beers, although leans towards Young's. Pleasant Staff and nice atmosphere.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Young's London Special (was Special)4.50ExceptionalAmber in colour, with a fruity body and bitter at the end of the sip. Lighter than other bitters, this is a really refreshing pint.
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Courage Directors (use Banks's entry now please)4.80GoodMahogany and with a stronger malt taste, Director's is a full flavoured, robust beer with vine fruits in the body and a slightly smoky aftertaste.

It was busy here, so we ended up persuading 2 lesbians to let us sit at their table. I enjoyed this place even though it did seem a bit cramped. 6 beers on with a good choice. Pleasant surroundings.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Banks's - Young's London Original (was Bitter) - previously brewed in Bedford and at Wychwood3.70GoodI am constantly surprised at how good this beer is. Nice hops and good bitterness make you want to keep drinking it.

The pub is found in Covent Garden, Central London, WC2E 9EB.

Thin narrow pub on Rose Street off the bottom of Garrick Street. Eight handpumps downstairs and three in the upstairs Dryden Room serving beer to an often packed pub. Very popular. Good feel to it. Worth going to if in this part of London and you don't mind the crowds. Fuller's added this pub to its estate in June 2011 and fully owned it since 2013. Substantial CAMRA discount for card carrying members.

We have visited this pub 13 times, seen 34 different beers and tried 9 of them.
