My first visit here, it was a Friday lunchtime, and apart from us, there was one man and his dog in the pub. We had a good chat with the landlord, and got an update on forthcoming new micro-pubs.

Evening visit. A wet evening walk to the outskirts of town was very worthwhile. The guv gave a brief tour of the premises and cellar. True to the Micropub concept.

The pub is found in Westgate-on-Sea, Kent, CT8 8ES.

A new kid on the block which opened on Sunday 2nd December 2012 as another Thanet Micropub. Located on Lymington Road in a previously unpubbed part of town, a shop conversion having previously been a Butcher's, Flower Shop and lastly a hairdresser's. In fact the ground floor gravity stillage beer cellar is the former Butcher's cold store which seems to require no artificial cooling. Since being built it has always been a shop and has now been furnished with former wooden dining room tables and chairs and has a superb brown and black quarry tiled floor. As the use of mobile telephones is banned in the bar here a separate back room has been provided which is labelled Telephone and has a seat and table for those that must use their device!! Named after the pub in the J. Meade Falkner book Moonfleet. Closed in September 2013 and subsequently re-opened under new stewardship on Friday 1st November 2013 but closed permanently shortly after that.

We have visited this pub 13 times, seen 29 different beers and tried 18 of them.
