The pub is found in Dover, Kent, CT16 1NX.
Previously the Elephant and Hind, Bar Elle and The Ellie Cafe Bar, The Port of Call and most recently The Burger Bros Bar & Grill in a building constructed in 1964 to replace 2 previous pubs on the site which were the Duchess of Kent owned by Mackesons and the Walmer Castle owned by Fremlins. Re-opened on Wednesday 16th July 2014 as The Port of Call, a real ale and cider pub operated by the same people who then ran the Rack of Ale Micropub in the town but changed operator shortly afterwards. Several periods of subsequent closure then in summer 2017 re-appeared as a Burger Bar selling some keg beers and allegedly some real ales too. Closed once more then re-opened again on Friday 12th July 2019 as the Elephant & Hind once more, with real ale dispensed on handpump. It overlooks the Market Square. Pastel shades everywhere inside and a central servery serves on 3 sides. 2 handpumps.
We have visited this pub 13 times, seen 28 different beers and tried 12 of them.
