One of the best freehouses in the town and a must go to when in Lewes. On the High St so easy to find and with a good selection of Sussex beers. Having drunk bitter all day, I wanted something refreshing, so got a bottle of Lowenbrau Oktoberfest instead.

Last pub on the tour. Busy as I recall but not so busy we couldn't get a table. I have a recollection of an orange neon glow, people at the bar and a need to catch a train.

It was Saturday lunchtime and I thought the High Street was a bit quiet until I realised that it had been closed to traffic due to the carnival. Welcoming pub. Has chalkboard with what is on and what is coming on.
BeerABVScoreNotes
1648 - Signature4.40AcceptableHazy gold, thin off white head. Decent hop, floral tangy citrus. Some yeast on aroma. Malts are quite juicy. Good floral hop finish which builds to a nettley citrus zing.
