Very busy as sadly the landlady's funeral wake was being held in the pub. Debs' Geordie accent and humour will be sadly missed.
| Shepherd Neame - Mild | 3.50 | | This beer was in excellent form - took me back to when I first drunk Sheps cask Mild in the early 80s. |
| Shepherd Neame - India Pale Ale | 4.50 | | A cracking beer, in cracking form |
| Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried | |

Just time for a couple of pints before the Planet Thanet Beer Festival opened its doors. A few locals at the bar talking about beer, pubs, brewers, etc.
| Shepherd Neame - Easter Hop Ale | 5.00 | | From Shepherd Neame's Pilot Brewery. I am not sure whether this is to the same recipe as Easter Bunny Hop which appeared last year. A very tasty bitter ale that was a bit too moreish, I could happily of stayed for a third pint. |
| Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried | |
| Brains - Bread of Heaven | 4.00 | Not Tried | |

I had been in to the Hoy next door which had recently re-opened after about twenty or more years and decided to pop in here for a pint. The landlord greeted me as soon as I entered and invited me to help myself to the sausage rolls, pork pies, and sandwiches that were on the bar.
| Shepherd Neame - Late Red | 4.50 | | Very good, and quite reasonably priced. |
| Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried | |

My visit was spoiled by people talking extremely loudly about football. The beer was good but I chose not to stay for another one.

Pretty quiet, put some cheese on the jukebox and chatted with the landlord. I quite like it here, hands down the best pub in Margate now The Spread Eagle has closed.
| Shepherd Neame - Late Red | 4.50 | | This was lovely. Very rich and fruity with a fair amount of malt. Nicest pint of this I've ever had. |
| Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | Sweet with a little toffee and a nice maltiness. |
