Very busy as sadly the landlady's funeral wake was being held in the pub. Debs' Geordie accent and humour will be sadly missed.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Mild3.50ExcellentThis beer was in excellent form - took me back to when I first drunk Sheps cask Mild in the early 80s.
Shepherd Neame - India Pale Ale4.50ExcellentA cracking beer, in cracking form

Just time for a couple of pints before the Planet Thanet Beer Festival opened its doors. A few locals at the bar talking about beer, pubs, brewers, etc.

Shepherd Neame - Easter Hop Ale5.00ExcellentFrom Shepherd Neame's Pilot Brewery. I am not sure whether this is to the same recipe as Easter Bunny Hop which appeared last year. A very tasty bitter ale that was a bit too moreish, I could happily of stayed for a third pint.

I had been in to the Hoy next door which had recently re-opened after about twenty or more years and decided to pop in here for a pint. The landlord greeted me as soon as I entered and invited me to help myself to the sausage rolls, pork pies, and sandwiches that were on the bar.

Shepherd Neame - Late Red4.50ExcellentVery good, and quite reasonably priced.

My visit was spoiled by people talking extremely loudly about football. The beer was good but I chose not to stay for another one.

Pretty quiet, put some cheese on the jukebox and chatted with the landlord. I quite like it here, hands down the best pub in Margate now The Spread Eagle has closed.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Late Red4.50ExcellentThis was lovely. Very rich and fruity with a fair amount of malt. Nicest pint of this I've ever had.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter3.70GoodSweet with a little toffee and a nice maltiness.

Small pub up an alleyway opposite Margate pier in Mansion Street. It's the oldest pub in Thanet and somewhere to be sure of a decent pint when in Margate. Would appear to have been sold by Shepherd Neame to private operators.

We have visited this pub 17 times, seen 14 different beers and tried 11 of them.
