Meeting the Maidstone mob Saturday lunchtime. 4 changing beers, 4.40 to £4.70.
Twickenham (also uses sub-brand Old Hands) - Small Batch Banoffee Stout | 4.70 | | Very sweet porter |
Elusive - Oregon Trail | 5.80 | | Citrus flavour, watery, last one out of cask. Disappointed. |
21 May 2024 (Magnus Greel)
Busy all seats taken so we nabbed a couple of stools and perched at the bar. Stuffy hermetically sealed atmosphere dissuaded staying for another pint unless there's air-con which I hadn't noticed otherwise it would be unbearable on a hot day.
Wilde Child - Razzle Dazzle | 4.40 | | Most welcome refreshingly chilled light bodied rasperry stout. |
Lakedown - Spring Ale | 3.80 | Not Tried
Pentrich - Make No Bones | 4.80 | Not Tried
By The Horns - Mildly Strong | 4.70 | Not Tried
28 Apr 2024 (Dosser)
4 ales on but hard to read as not on a blackboard. Unusually, not a full pub because of the rain.
Wye Valley - Wholesome Stout | 4.60
Disruption IS Brewing (sub-brand of Ascot) - Chaos More Chaos | 5.00 | | Unusual beer. Very murky. £4.60 a pint. |
24 Feb 2024 (Dosser)
Full micro on a Saturday afternoon. 4 beers on.
Time and Tide - Urban Goose | 4.60 | | Hazy ale, very fruity and hard to see through. £4.40 a pop. |
Settle - Ernie's Milk Stout | 4.50 | | Very sweet milk stout. |
22 Oct 2023 (Dosser)
5 beers on all at £4.40 a pint. Pretty full pub.
Time and Tide - Urban Goose | 4.60 | | Cold hazy IPA with grapefruit notes. Very murky looking. |
Rivington - Do you remember when | 5.00 | | Nice export stout but too cold for me. |
12 Sep 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Early evening visit. My first here since the venue opened. Rather subdued lighting and found the beer choice difficult to read being in white ink on glass next to pumpclips. Obviously a friendly sort of place.
Moot Brew - Waystone | 3.80 | | Missed it was hazy, when ordering. Murky bland brew that could have been improved by more condition and mouthfeel. Did not enjoy |
Only With Love - The O.G. Best Bitter | 4.20 | Not Tried
Elusive - Cityspace | 4.50 | Not Tried | Advertised as hazy so overlooked |
Three Acre - Ruby Porter | 4.20 | Not Tried
26 Jul 2023 (Dosser)
Lynnes birthday so out for a pub crawl, procecco, pizza and beer. 4 beers on and rising prices here. One beer on at £6.80 a pint, one at £4. Big difference.
Siren Craft - Broken Dream Breakfast Stout | 6.50 | | Very nice. £4.80 a pint. 12 minutes wait to be served. One bloke couldn't cope here today. |
21 Apr 2023 (Dosser)
Afternoon visit to the newly crowned local poty. Beers have gone up in price and were very cold, but a popular selection was on offer.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur | 5.90 | | Ice cold and £4.40 a pint. But enjoyable and flavoursome. |
Titanic - Plum Porter | 4.90 | | £4.20 and ice cold on a wet afternoon. Very nice despite the temperature. Of the beer not the cold day! |
