Visits Details
27 Oct 2011 (Martin the Mildman)
Autumn Beer Festival in progress with gravity casks in the side room and cellar runs available at certain times.
| Griffin - Super Black Magic Woman | 6.20 | | Black strong mild style beer with some malty sweetness and a low hop rate. Some fruit in the finish. My score 16/20. |
| Bridgetown - Dartness Stout | 4.50 | | Dry roast black stout with a dry roasty finish. My score 15/20. |
| Topsham - Passing Loop | 3.60 | | Rare appearance of a beer from the tiny Topsham brewery, not to be confused with Topsham & Exminster which is now called Exeter brewery. Although pale golden in colour there was a strong smoked flavour to this beer, maybe due to a brewing problem. My score 14/20. |
08 May 2011 (Martin the Mildman)
Handful of punters in on a Sunday lunchtime.
| BlackFriars - Mild | 3.40 | | Dark brown mild with a bittersweet tang. Some roasty malt and a little hoppiness in the finish. My score 15/20. |
| Hunter's - Honey Bunny | 4.50 | | Last one out of the cask so may be a little under par. Grainy sweetness from the honey but little hop character. My score 14/20. |

| Isle of Skye - Old Pretender | 4.70 | | Ruby/brown coloured, a spicy hop flavour dominates that is a little too harsh for my taste. My score 14/20. |
| Poldark - Nampara | 3.80 | | Amber bitter with a spicy hop flavour and a dryish bitter finish. My score 14/20. |
