Early lunchtime crowd. It really has a great location overlooking the sea and the pier with a protected rear decked patio and garden. Interior has modern bar feel with lots of wood and brown leather sofas and newspapers. Normally 3 UK beers on plus selection of draught continental lagers/beers (Amstel, Bitburger, Leffe blond and brune, Hoegaarden, Liefmans Kriek, De Koninck, white and dark Erdinger, Paulaner and Staropramen) and selection of bottled beers from around the world. One of my favourite places to come for its selection of beer.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Erdinger - Dunkel5.00ExceptionalOne of the reasons I came here today was because this is the closest place to Ashford that I know does this on draught on a regular basis. Dark wheat beer with chocolate malt and lemon acids with good lemon zingy finish. One of my favourite drinks in the world
Liefmans - Kriek6.50ExceptionalThis is even better on draught than it is in bottles. The flavours seem to be more pronounced and crisper. Gorgeous, wonderful, superb. Reddish, pinky, brown with pink head. Sour cherry and malt aroma. Body is full with dry sour balanced finish with more chewy cherries. Stunning
Woodforde's - Wherry3.80ExcellentNot quite at its most sparkling best. Pale copper colour. Good hop, malt nose with zingy hips and citrus in mouth.
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA3.80GoodPale gold in colour with bubbly white head, grapefruit citrus and fresh hop aromas. Pale malt undrpins more aggressive green hop flavours in the mouth leading to good hoppy, citric dry finish. Distinctive tea flavours too.

Sat on the sunny decking patio on a Sunday lunchtime enjoying the mixed sausages and potato salad and the range of both UK and continental/world beers. Sited opposite the entrance to the pier, this modern conversion offers a restaurant upstairs and good beer downstairs including up to 3 from the UK and Liefmans, Erdinger, Amstel, Hoegaarden, Paulaner on draught and a good range of bottled beers including Coopers sparkling ale from Australia
BeerABVScoreNotes
Erdinger - Dunkel5.00ExcellentDark wheat beer with good liquorice flavours. Really drinkable and went extremely well with the sausages I was eating. More of a winter beer, but I like this very much
Woodforde's - Nelson's Revenge4.50ExcellentReally good beer. Light brown but with typical Woodfordes hops reminiscent of Wherry, but with more body brought by the stronger alcohol content. Really enjoyed this

A busy lunch time session. The food was good but they only had 2 real ales on.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodThat Harvey's yeasty taste but no real life to it
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA3.80GoodFairly refreshing but slightly too metalic.

Brilliant pub/bar near the pier on the seafront. Patio garden at rear which is a sun trap in good weather. Single bar is modern with wood floors, chairs and tables and leather sofas. Upto 3 UK beers and good range of continental draught beers (Bitburger, Budvar, Amstel, Erdinger, Leffe, Hoegaarden and Liefmans) and world bottled beers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Erdinger - Dunkel5.00ExceptionalDark brown wheat beer. Clean smelling wheat beer with good malt and a good hop zing on the finsih. Wonderful
Liefmans - Kriek6.50ExceptionalReddish ruby cloudy beer. Nose of sour cherries. Taste is of cherries, full in mouth. Excellent long lasting flavour of sour cherries and biting bitter hops. Superb
Harviestoun - Belgian White4.30ExceptionalFamiliar Harviestoun hop nose to this golden ale. Good malt with citrus fruit in mouth leading to citrus and hoppy finish. Very refreshing
Archers - Spring Blond3.80GoodGold in colour. Futity hoppy nose, good in mouth, zingy, citric finish. Good spring session beer
