1900 visit. Post-footy crowd plus usual's in, although, oddly, it thins right out as the evening wears on. A good craft/real ale, cider and foreign range on as expected here.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Temperance Union - Ott Softy1.00Acceptable£3.20 per pint.

On one of my regular excursions, to visit a good old pal, and we always seem to meet here. Old habits and all that....Late afternoon and Reading is busy, and a few are coming/going here. Eclectic Ale, Cider and Foreign range on, as always.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Temperance Union - Ott Softy1.00AcceptablePleased to report sampling Lime & Lemonade at only £3.40 a pint....

Late afternoon following meetings in Reading. It is warm and muggy today and I don’t mind admitting that I undid my top button and loosened my tie in here, noting that the dress code appeared to be casual.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Windsor & Eton - Magna Carta7.20ExcellentThis was the full-strength version of this beer (there is also a 4% version). Chestnut-coloured. Lovely. A Barley Wine-type, but with appreciable hop levels.
Elland - Pilot IPA5.20GoodAmber-coloured. Balance seemed tipped more toward caramel flavours than hop tastes. Still good though.

I had forgotten what an odd little pub this is (I mean that in the nicest way) - full of character and characters in the early evening.

Early evening and many 'visitors' coming and going made for a lively visit to meet a friend or two. Usual big selection on and very seasonal too.

Lunchtime visit to see an old pal. Recently changed hands and the new team seem to be as keen as ever on the Real Ale front. Severn Guest Ales, two Craft Ales, local Cider and a decent Foreign range also noted. Still a top Real Ale pub in the Town.
