Same as ever, good local with 6 beers on, three regulars and 3 guests, normally including a mild. Local crowd in at the bar, and I sat in the non smoking area counting the pump clips on the walls and ceiling.
Coach House - Green Bullet | 4.10 | | Golden with bubbly white head. Faint grassy hop. Bit watery in mouth, no noticeable malt with nice dry grassy, citric hop on end. Inoffensive |
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried
Greene King - Abbot | 5.00 | Not Tried
Theakston - Mild Ale | 3.60 | Not Tried
Banks's - Young's London Original (was Bitter) - previously brewed in Bedford and at Wychwood | 3.70 | Not Tried

Canterbury Pub Crawl. As good a place to start as any. Keith, the landlord, was in cheery form as per usual. Only a couple of tables of customers in plus one or two locals at the bar on a Saturday lunchtime. 6 beers on, 3 regular and 3 guests. Nice pub to come and have a relaxing pint or 3
Archers - Village | 3.60 | | Copper colour with bubbly beige head. Yeasty apple caramel aroma. Tasty in mouth. The caramel is a bit dusty. Nice supping bitter. Inoffensive, but the flavour in the mouth is good. Finish is dusty dry and some citric hop with a bit of nettle |
Archers - Special Bitter | 4.30 | | Chestnut colour with thin beige ehad. Earthy aroma, muddy in mouth with caramel and earthy/herb hop. Soft in mouth, and finish is not too assertive and it fades quite quickly. Hop on the finish needs to be more pronounced for my liking |
Greene King - Abbot | 5.00 | Not Tried
Theakston - Traditional Mild | 3.50 | Not Tried
Banks's - Young's London Original (was Bitter) - previously brewed in Bedford and at Wychwood | 3.70 | Not Tried

I was only one of the two people in on a late Thursday afternoon. We sat at the bar talking with Linda and Keith who run the pub. Very friendly place. They had a winter beers festival on the first weekend of the month which they will repeat next year. 5 beers on including 2 guests
Evan Evans - Warrior | 4.60 | | Deep copper/amber colour. Slightly rich aroma of strawberry/raspberry. Quite full in mouth. Finish has more richness. Bot big on hop, some earthiness. Rich and warming overall |
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Courage Directors (use Banks's entry now please) | 4.80 | | Nutty, muddy aroma. Same in mout with brown bitter flavour. Bit undistinguished. Some earthy hop. |
Greene King - Abbot | 5.00 | Not Tried
Banks's - Young's London Original (was Bitter) - previously brewed in Bedford and at Wychwood | 3.70 | Not Tried

Quiet on a Thursday evening. Very snug feeling on a winter evening. Friendly local with excellent collection of pump clips on the ceiling
Archers - Black Jack Porter | 4.60 | | Black beer with thick beige tight creamy head. Some roasted malt bit of sourness. Could do with a bit more flavour. Coffee on nose. Fine condition, but more like a mild except for the alcohol |
Badger (Hall & Woodhouse) - Festive Feasant | 4.50 | | Ruby beer with bubbly thin beige head. Some yeast but also dark red fruit. Winter beers are a bit sweeter I think this year. Touch of vanilla. Smooth sweet fruit finish has yeast and some puckering of the mouth. Quite pleasant with yeast/sour sweet fruit. |
Greene King - Abbot | 5.00 | Not Tried

Came here for a pint after watching Kent thrash Scotland at the St Lawrence ground. Early evening and fairly quiet until the rest of the cricket watching public arrived. Feels like a good local. Has 6 beers on, of which 3 are regulars, Youngs Bitter, Bomadier and Abbot Ale
Burton Bridge - Battle Brew | 5.00 | | Dark copper with sparse bubbly off white head. Nice malts on aroma with some rich dark berry fruit. Fruit continues in mouth with good acids and then spicey hop finish |

Busy for a late afternoon.

Friendly corner local on the Old Dover Road, can get busy on days when the cricket is on at the St Lawrence ground just up the road. Normally 6 beers on with 3 regulars, Abbot, Youngs Bitter and Bombadier. The 20 20 cricket game was rained off at 7pm so this pub filled up quite quickly with the crowd taking shelter from the rain. Including me.
Banks's - Young's London Original (was Bitter) - previously brewed in Bedford and at Wychwood | 3.70 | | Copper coloured session beer. Did not think much of it to start with, some citric hop and a bit of malt, but it definitely grows on you as the pint goes down. There is enough bite to keep you interested and the right amount of flavour to make it worth it. A good pint all round |
Greene King - Abbot | 5.00 | Not Tried
Marston's - Pedigree | 4.50 | Not Tried
Theakston - Traditional Mild | 3.50 | Not Tried

Really nice corner local on the old Dover Road, very popular during the cricket (St Lawrence ground is 10 minutes up the road). Very well run upto 6 beers with 3 regulars, Youngs Bitter, Greene King Abbot Ale and Charles Wells Bombadier
JW Lees (see also Lees) - Googly | 4.30 | | Advertised as a pale ale. Amber/gold in colour with some hops on nose. Creamyish in mouth with a slightly tangy hoppy finish |
Greene King - Abbot | 5.00 | Not Tried
Theakston - Traditional Mild | 3.50 | Not Tried

Friendly pub, popular during the cricket season with fans. Good priced pub food with normally 6 beers on, 3 regular (Young's Bitter, Greene King Abbot Ale and Charles Wells Bombadier) and 3 guests. The number of pump clips on the walls and ceiling are testament to the volume of guest beers
Hampshire - Ironside | 4.20 | | Good best bitter with interesting hoppiness on end |
Greene King - Abbot | 5.00 | Not Tried
Banks's - Young's London Original (was Bitter) - previously brewed in Bedford and at Wychwood | 3.70 | Not Tried
