I came in here to have a pint whilst waiting for a fast train home, I ended up having a second pint and missing the train. I had a good chat with the barman about life in Romania and betting on horses.

Marston's - Bass4.40ExcellentI was wondering if this would be on form after reading Mr. Pirrip's report. Thankfully it was very good indeed.
04 Sep 2012 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit in the search for some perfect Bass.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marston's - Bass4.40PoorOh my past experience of super Bass here was shattered. Vineous - tried to drink it but had to send it back. It was swapped for Draught Guinness with superb grace but left on sale.
28 Jul 2012 (ChrisE)
We had just walked up the zig zag path and deserved a pint (well two pints actually), we sat by the window and had a bar snack to accompany the ale.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marston's - Bass4.40ExcellentSuperb Bass.

I like this place, and as we had to pass it on the way to Folkestone Central Railway Station we popped in for a quick pint. A fairly quiet evening, and a comfortable place to enjoy a pint of Bass.

Marston's - Bass4.40GoodFirst pints from a new cask.

Saturday lunch time, and fairly quiet. Very good Bass in oversize glasses.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marston's - Bass4.40GoodGood condition, and a nice temperature.

OK, so the bar was full of a coach party who were all very retired, and I had missed my train, but the Bass in here, just as a beer, is one of the best conditioned beers I have ever had. Just amazing.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marston's - Bass4.40ExcellentYes, it isn't too exciting in terms of flavours, but in terms of the temperature even on a run of 2 weeks really hot weather, and the condition, just marvellous. Served in oversize glasses as well, with my pint well over the pint line. Terrific stop for a pint in 10 mins.
04 May 2010 (ChrisE)
I decided to pop in here for a pint before catching a train from Folkestone Central. The Bass was so good that I had another one, and missed it.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marston's - Bass4.40ExcellentA very well kept pint.
28 Feb 2010 (ChrisE)
Early Sunday evening, and fairly quiet. A most enjoyable, and relaxing visit chatting with friends and bar staff.

Marston's - Bass4.40Excellent
08 Feb 2010 (Ian)
I had a cancelled train at Folkestone Central, so a five minute cycle ride got me here for a pint of Bass.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marston's - Bass4.40ExcellentBrilliant condition, great drinking bitter, 8 pints of this could disappear over an evening and no mistake.
27 Jan 2010 (ChrisE)
Early evening, just a couple of regulars, and a Scotsman who returned his pint of Fosters because it was not in a proper lager glass, whatever that is.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marston's - Bass4.40ExcellentBass seems a bit sweeter than it used to, but this was very well kept.
