I was walking past after lying to my doctor about my weekly alcohol units and decided to try a pint, there seemed to be fruit machines and television screens everywhere but at least the beer was unexpectedly good.
Adnams - Ghost Ship | 4.50 | | A really good aroma to this pint. |
Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried
Sharp's - Doom Bar | 4.00 | Not Tried
24 Apr 2013 (ChrisE)
Four handpumps in use, the other three with well known brands, I opted for the local ale.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Spring Top | 4.00

I popped in here to see how things are going under new management. This pub now has up to four ales on handpump.
Copper Dragon - Silver Myst | 4.00 | | A new beer from Copper Dragon, their first attempt at brewing a cask Pilsener style ale. An interesting brew, I may have to pop back for another one. |

Apparently they have been serving real ale again for about 6 months, after only doing keg. They had Young's Bitter, but it did not prove too popular, but the Bombadier takes up 2 pumps and the Courage Best has been popular as well. Spoke to a bloke at the bar who works in Argos. Go figure.
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Courage Best Bitter (use Marston's entry now please) | 4.00 | | Best half of this I've had in years. Really quite tasty hop on the finish. |
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Wells Bombardier (now superseded by 4.1% version) | 4.30 | Not Tried | Went off as I ordered it. |

I came here to watch Manchester United vs Blackburn as it was on Sky Prem Plus, otherwise I wouldn't have visited. Far too smokey for me and no cask beer. Flowers IPA on keg, so I drank Guiness. Fortunately United won 1-0

Good crowd of 30-40 somethings on a Saturday lunchtime. Came here to watch the football on Sky. Pre-wedding party were also in giving a bit of extra colour. No hand pumps and the bitters were nitrokeg on tap
ABInBev - Boddingtons | 4.10 | | A pale shadow of what it used to be. |
Badger (Hall & Woodhouse) - Flowers IPA (subsequently contract brewed at Brains) | 3.60 | Not Tried
