The new owners have finally made some changes with a new menu and a new line up of beers. I was told that the pub is expected to close for refurbishment in the near future. I spoke to a barman who told me that he used to work for Kent Brewery.

Early evening visit, although the pub has been sold at auction it is still trading and remains operated by Stonegate, at least for the time being. Word on the street is that the pub has been bought by the owner of a local restaurant so changes are likely in the not too distant future.

I don't understand what is going on here. The pub is up for sale by auction in three days time but everything is carrying on as normal and the staff were busy putting up Halloween decorations and some Christmas menus were on display. All cask beers are £1.99 and you can get a free one with a completed loyalty card.

Afternoon visit, I find that there are just too many television screens and other distractions in here that I can not relax and enjoy a beer. A great pity as the cask ales are just £1.99 per pint in here.

The pub is found in Ashford, Kent, TN24 8SQ.
Pub in Middle Row in the centre of Ashford. Lots of wood with 1 bar to the side and 3 rooms for drinking. Plenty of TVs for sport. Seating outside in the summer. Was Man of Kent but renamed and relaunched 2012/13 with new name and with greater real ale choice too.
We have visited this pub 26 times, seen 38 different beers and tried 24 of them.
