Robert was on a mission to stock up his beer cupboard with bottles and we stayed for a few quick ones and an excellent pork steak roll.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew By Numbers - 03/06 Porter: Simcoe Centennial6.00ExcellentA delicious, hoppy Porter.
Brew By Numbers - Session 4: Hoppy Session Pale4.00GoodA collaboration brew with Belgium’s de la Senne. Tasted to me like a Berliner Weiss or a Gose. Challenging. Sharp and a little sour and a little bit salty.
Brew By Numbers - 05/17 India Pale Ale: Simcoe Citra Chinook6.50GoodHazy gold colour. Very bitter US hop combination.
03 Jun 2016 (Stephen Harris)
I didn’t realise that this brewery bar does not open in the evenings until 6pm, so when I walked in on the dot of six I became the first customer of the day. 7 or 8 draught beers available.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew By Numbers - 05/15 India Pale Ale: Citra Azacca6.00ExcellentI feel that I hardly need say that this is an unfiltered, golden beer with a very high hop content.
Brew By Numbers - 01/16 – Saison: Rakau5.50GoodCloudy and pale gold. Full-on sourness. Interesting fruit flavours.
01 Apr 2016 (Stephen Harris)
Early evening and the Taproom here is fairly quiet. If anyone thinks I’ve been spending too much time in Bermondsey of late, they are right.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew By Numbers - 24/02 Amber Ale: Multigrain3.80ExcellentOn key-keg dispense. Amber in colour. This is how to do a malt-forward beer.
Brew By Numbers - 03/05 Porter: Willamette & Centennial6.40ExcellentOn key-keg dispense. Black. Quite dry, with lots of roast barley. But it is also smooth and full of tasty hops.
22 Nov 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Last quick brewery visit before dashing off to the football. Quite a crowd in here. wide range of beers available from key keg or bottle.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew By Numbers - 15/01 Black IPA – Yakima Valley6.10ExcellentOn key keg dispense. Fab Black IPA.
18 Oct 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Lunchtime and a steady flow of customers. A massive 26 different home-brewed beers to chose between today.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew By Numbers - 01/09 Saison – Hibiscus & Chamomile5.80ExcellentOn ‘keg’ dispense. Pinkish-tinged amber in colour. Unconventional flavourings for a beer, but, like everything they do here, it seems to work.
Brew By Numbers - 11/06 Session IPA – Simcoe4.60ExcellentOn ‘keg’ dispense. Hazy gold in colour and very lush.
04 Oct 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Just a flying, lunchtime visit as both of us had to away to our respective football matches. Quite busy in the brewery, with drizzle deterring anyone from sitting outside.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew By Numbers - 55/01 Jensen6.00ExcellentOn ‘keg’ dispense. Another Gin Saison. This one has simply had a bottle of Jensen Gin glugged into it, rather than the more deconstructed approach taken by Meantime in their similar beer (where the gin botanicals were added as flavouring rather than the gin itself). Still very lovely nonetheless.
07 Jun 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Busy at lunchtime (I dined on Scotch egg). Lots of pallets have been placed outside to sit on and take advantage of the sunny weather.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew By Numbers - 01/03 Saison Cucumber & Juniper5.20ExcellentOn key keg dispense. Pale golden and hazy. Cucumber flavours very obvious, juniper much more subtle. Lovely.
Brew By Numbers - Brown Ale: Bramling X & Columbus6.40ExcellentOn key keg dispense. A strong, heavy malt, Brown Ale with bramble hints.
01 Mar 2014 (Stephen Harris)
I was the first customer of the day, a few minutes after 11am opening, but a steady trickle soon started arriving. Four different beers available on key-keg today, supplemented by a selection of bottles.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew By Numbers - 03/02 Porter Liberty5.70ExcellentFrom key-keg. I was impressed by this black, hoppy Porter.
Brew By Numbers - 99/01 Experimental Saison5.60GoodFrom key-keg. Golden and slightly hazy. A crisp Saison with some sourness, some spice and some orangey tones.
08 Feb 2014 (Stephen Harris)
The same group of drinkers from Birmingham who were at The Kernel have arrived here, giving the bar a busy air before noon. Four or five beers available from key-keg, with the whole dispense method on full view to reassure those who think there is somehow an addition of gas in this technology.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew By Numbers - 02/01 Golden Ale – Motueka & Pacific Jade5.40ExcellentOn key-keg dispense. This is rather lovely.
Brew By Numbers - 01/08 Saison – Wai-Iti & Lemon6.20ExcellentOn key-keg dispense. Distinctly lemony, a bit sour and very refreshing.

The pub is found in Bermondsey, Central London, SE16 3RA.

A Bermondsey micro-brewery in Enid Street, established in late-2012. The majority of production is bottled, with an increasing amount going in to key-keg and now also cans. The brewery is situated in two railway arches and has an expanded bar area which opens between 11am and 4pm on Saturdays, as well as on Friday evenings. All beers are numbered, the numbers representing the style followed by the recipe. So, 02/04 would be style number two (Golden Ale), recipe number 4. By 2019 a single handpump had been installed. Closed May 2023 as part of company's financial restructuring.

We have visited this pub 29 times, seen 76 different beers and tried them all.
