Always a very good selection of beers in this pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Browar Namyslow - Namyslow Plum4.00PoorFruity plum aroma, sweeter than I had anticipated in mouth, a bit like my mother’s plum crumble that I had when I was a child on a Sunday. But then it gets worse, bit chalky in flaovur, too sweet. In fact it’s terrible. Tastes of artificial fruit. I didn’t finish the half pint.

Went looking for the Princess Louise and missed it completely. Which was fine as apparently it is being refurbised and will re-open in December 2007.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Itchen Valley - One Hop Cascade4.20GoodCascadey hoppy golden beer. Perfectly drinkable.
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA3.80PoorFull of diacetyl.

'Spoons on Holborn that is a little better than average. Attracts a lot of law students.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Highgate - Davenport's IPA4.00AcceptableGold with thin bubbly white head. It's a golden bitter with decent citrus finish. Really quite drying on the finish, more than most bitters. Bit of yeast. Good lemony finish.
28 Apr 2007 (Ian)
Late Saturday afternoon and there were a load of pink and white balloons up for some reason.
BeerABVScoreNotes
B&T (Banks & Taylor's) - Tinker4.50AcceptableCopper colour with thin lasting white head. Coppery, some red berry fruit. Lacks malt fullness. Certainly has fruity presence. Bit over teh top. Earthy bitter and syrupy fruit. It's a fruity bitter.
Red Brick - Double Barrel4.30PoorCopper colour with thin beige head. Earthy bitter. Slightly syrupy with the malt. Yeasty aroma, some mineral. Some sharpness. Some green apple, too sour to be pleasant. Malt/hop/yeast is out of balance.
