A good welcome from Carl the landlord who remembered me from his other pub, the Ales of the Unexpected, he also asked after somebody called Philip Pirrip. I really liked this place (as I did all of the three pubs that have opened up since my last visit to Margate a few months ago) and will return to this town to do another tour of the superb pubs in this area.
