Late Friday afternoon and we sat and watched the cricket - England were clobbering the Aussies! The pub had a nice friendly atmosphere.

Last pub for Andrew and me on pub crawl. Cricket was on (2nd day, 3rd test from Old Trafford) with England on top. Locals sat on the bar stools around the bar watching it and chatting. Good feel of a local pub just up from Maidstone East to the side of the prison. Normally had Master Brew plus one on, served in over size glasses.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | Not as good as the last couple of pints I have had of this. Not enough hoppy flowery bite, but still drinkable enough |

Shepherd Neame corner pub close to Maidstone East by the prison. I bar with U-shaped rooms surrounding it. Big on sport on Saturdays. Beer is served extremely well in lined glasses. Normally only a couple of beers on at any one time one of which is Master Brew. Sunny day, first pint drunk outside in 2005
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | There seems to be a bit of a revival for this particular beer. Mid brown to ruby beer with good malt and a bitter hoppy finish. Could have drunk this all day which is the first time I have said that for Master Brew |
Shepherd Neame - Early Bird | 4.30 | | Mid brown spring beer. Good citrusy fruit with light malts and Sheps yeast on nose. Good hoppy bitter finish |
