I came in here hoping to find something from the Shepherd Neame seasonal list, or something from their micro brewery. I was pleasantly surprised to find some guest beers available.

Always had the reputation as best pub for Shepherd Neame beer in Maidstone. Had a bit of a refurbish since last here but still a nice place to come for a beer. Takes the micro brew beers from the brewery too.

| Shepherd Neame - Late Red | 4.50 | | After a couple of years in the wilderness this is back on form. Shep yeast on aroma with some hop and some malt. Then this burst of turkish delight fruit in the mouth and then this hit of hops. Good biting hop which is bitter and has some resins. Shockingly good. Well served and very fresh. Great condition. Loved it. |

In County Road The Swan is a small, 'corner-of-the-street local'. Despite being Shepherd Neame tied does hold occasional small beer festivals of other brewers' wares. Refurbished in early 2015.
