Very quiet, came for the BBQ as well as the beer but the dull chilly evening seemed to put people off. Shame, the food quality was on par with the beer. Beer festival here tomorrow and Monday, all Kent ales.

Very friendly welcome at lunchtime. Sat at the bar chatting about beer.

I'd been for a walk with Isabel and my dad along the Devil's Kneading Trough overlooking some nice Kent country side (and Ashford). It was windy and a bit cold and whatever other excuses I made up that justified a quick visit to a pub. Great pub this. Lovely interior, friendly owner and good beer. Sat in the garden and had just finished my beer by the time it started to hail.

A well proportioned 2 room pub with a long garden at the rear. The smaller of the 2 rooms is taken up with a pool table whilst the other room is larger and L-Shaped. The floors are bare board and the furniture is eclectic. Local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year 2017, 2018, 2019 and again in 2022.
