Mid Saturday afternoon and there was a curious mix of JDW drinkers, tourists and passers by. Handy for Victoria stations.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Titanic - Steerage (superseded by 3.8% version - see separate entry)3.50GoodPale gold with thin lasting off white head. Earthy hop, golden bitter. For a 3.5% beer, I think they've done a good job, not the best beer in the world maybe. Some yeast and lovely lemon curd, grapefruit aroma, tad flabby in mouth, good lemon curdy dry finish. Impressed especially the citrus flavours are good.
Wickwar - Premium Spring Ale3.80AcceptableDecent hoppy finish, good condition, good wideish mouthfeel on this light English bitter. Excellent lacing. Very light bitter, but lemon citrus is good.
Greene King - Morland Tanner's Jack4.40AcceptableAmber with thin beige head. Minerally, tangerine, yeasty bitter, confused, muddy. Tangerine flavours are fine. Bit muddled but fruity malt is decent.
Caledonian - Top Banana4.10PoorGold with thin white head. Artificial bubble gum aroma, some banana. This is pants. Not pants pants, but pants. It's a very unspecific bitter with enormously faint banana. Doesn't work as a beer. Though there are no off flavours.
