Busy as ever on a Tuesday early evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Black Wolf (formerly Traditional Scottish Ales (TSA)) - Red Torpedo3.80AcceptableRuby red in colour. Spicy hop dominates, not entirely to my taste. My score 14/20.

Came here a bit by accident as I thought I was on Old Street, but I wasn't, so the bus landed me at the City Road, Upper Street crossroads, so I had to pop into this pub didn't I?
BeerABVScoreNotes
Elgood's - Old Wagg4.00AcceptableLooks in good condition. Decent golden bitter, very biscuity, muddy, hoppy aroma. Crisp and lightly biscuity in mouth, snappy hoppy finish. Like all Elgoods, it’s a good beer, not sure the hop balance works, but yes it’s a decent beer.

The pub is found in Islington, Central London, N1 9LQ.

Just opposite Angel tube station on Upper Street, this pub has the bar to the left as you enter with some raised drinking areas and some booths the further back you go into the pub. Smallish Wetherspoon's, but fine for the hustle and bustle of Upper Street. Very steep precarious stairs lead down to the toilets. The counter is equipped with 12 handpumps in 2 separate banks, each of 6. Placed up for sale by Wetherspoon September 2022 with 31 others. Taken over by Urban Pubs and Bars in early summer 2023 with change of name and temporarily closed for an interior rehash. Re-opened 20th July 2023 with real ale usually available. Re-opened with yet another name in 2024.

We have visited this pub 33 times, seen 129 different beers and tried 40 of them.
