Strange. A bitter with more than a hint of saison.

Unusual. A stout with a burnt, slightly acetic tone. Is this what the brewer intended.

What could be better than sitting in the sunshine by the harbourside.
Only cask beers noted. Six other six d. north kegs available.

Murky mid-brown and unremittingly sour. Barman agreed it was sour and replaced with good grace. Bar Manager said it was a kettle sour and supposed to taste that way! If so why was it badged as an IPA and have no dimension other than sourness?

Another disappointing cask list with not much to look forward to on the taunting pole.
The pub is found in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, AB39 2JY.
Free house enjoying a fantastic harbour side location in Stonehaven's conservation area in Shorehead. 5 or 6 real ales, with an emphasis on Scottish micros. Excellent selection of bottled beers especially from Belgium plus interesting kegs which may be from Westmalle, Kwak or De Koninck. 2009 CAMRA Scottish Pub of the Year.
We have visited this pub 303 times, seen 412 different beers and tried 228 of them.
