We popped in here on our way home from the Great British Beer Festival. It was fairly quiet, and there was a good range of Brodies beers on. Jason declined the offer of a game of bar billiards which was probably very wise after after the GBBF.

An amazing place. My 1991 East London Camra Guide describes it as having strippers, darts, and pool. It now has good beers instead, and all priced at just £1.99 per pint at the time of writing this report.

The pub is found in Leyton, Greater London, E10 6AE.

Community local in the Bakers Arms area of Leyton, in High Road Leyton, with a large comfortable dark wooden interior. The pub was present here by 1855 and was acquired by Charrington’s Brewery from Truman’s in 1870 – in later years it passed to Ind Coope. It was rebuilt as we know it today in 1897, on a slightly smaller site than its predecessor. Used to be famous for a good selection of Brodie's beer which were brewed in the former stable block to the rear. Sold on and the brewery has been relocated outside London. Refurbished and reopened under new ownership in late-May 2018. Reported late 2022 no long selling real ale. 2023 reported back selling real ale.

We have visited this pub 54 times, seen 131 different beers and tried 82 of them.
