05 Jan 2013 (Martin the Mildman)
Busy even before midday on a Saturday.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Buxton - Rednik Stout4.10GoodA balck stout with a high hop rate, making this a noticeably hoppy stout. Roast malt just gets the upper hand but with a lingering hoppy finish. My score 15/20.
Arbor Ales - Hoptical Delusion3.80AcceptablePale, hoppy and bitter, just a bit too much for my taste. My score 14/20.
13 Nov 2012 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Arbor Ales - Chinook6.50GoodOverpowering hop flavour but that was what I had expected. Just straight bitterness
Cantillon - Gueze5.00GoodHad just a thimble taster. The board described this as "v. sour Belgian funk beer". This was excessively sour enough to knock my hat off and I was not even wearing a hat!

Steady stream of punters through the door.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Arbor Ales - Nugget4.00GoodPale single hopped beer with a strong citrus hop character with some malt for balance. Fruity, hoppy finish. My score 15/20. Temp ok as bought at same time as previous beer.
Marble - Magic3.30AcceptableIntensely hoppy for its strength, rather one dimensional with little malt balance. Served too cold here so my score 14/20 with B for quality.
11 Sep 2012 (Martin the Mildman)
Fairly quiet inside as most people drinking outside.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Bristol Beer Factory - Bitter Californian4.50AcceptableReddish brown bitter with a very bitter flavour which for me was rather unbalanced. My score 13/20.
11 Sep 2012 (Philip Pirrip)
Last knockings visit. Do think this venue needs very fixed opening hours (subject only to ad hoc extension) in view of its location at a transport hub and that is very much a destination venue.

2310 hours visit 'til close. The bar team were very friendly and clearly working as a coherent team on all their tasks - great to see.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew Wharf - Bin End Pale4.80ExcellentFirst rate with full taste and a warming feel. Described by Brew Wharf as ..... Brewed to use up all of the recently opened odd malts and hops left over from the previous few beers...used Maris Otter, Munich, CaraRed & Gold malts along with Columbus and Cascade hops for a thirst quenching biscuit malt based, citrus fruit hinted APA for summer. The barmaid told me there was a hint of pink peppercorn in the brew too but not sure if she was pulling my * as I have never tasted same. Once she said it I felt a warming on the tongue and mouthfeel like a pepper.
Marble - Little Evelyn7.00GoodA little too much of the American IPA taste. A collaboration with Hawkshead Brewery

The pub is found in Euston, Central London, NW1 2EF.

Sited in the neo classical lodges at the front of Euston mainline railway station and operated by Bloomsbury Leisure Group. The West Lodge opened initially then the East Lodge opened as a cider bar but was later converted to matching the West Lodge drinks offerings. In each lodge the bar is on the ground floor with more seating and the toilets upstairs via a narrow spiral staircase. In the West Lodge there are 8 cask beers on air pressure and 19 keg taps are fitted on the back wall plus there are fridges of bottled beers on either side of the bar. Owned by the same people as the Sheffield Tap on the station there. No food is prepared here but pizzas may be ordered at the bar and then they are shipped in by a supplier.

We have visited this pub 81 times, seen 305 different beers and tried 105 of them.
