Pleasant and comfortable in the mid-evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Five Points - Railway Porter4.80ExcellentBlack, roasty and creamy, but not ‘derailed’.
Sambrook's - American Red Ale4.20ExcellentI enjoyed this very much. Quite light for the style, with some very tasty hops.
Reunion - Frost Fair4.50GoodA dark Winter Ale, this pint seemingly quite heavily spiced (cloves I think were the dominant taste).
Sharp's - Coaster (or Cornish Coaster)3.60Not Tried

Quite a few people moved on to here when the Orient Supporters Club bar closed in the late afternoon. The pub may well have been empty otherwise.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Five Points - Brick Field Brown5.40ExcellentI always enjoy this one.
Signature Brew - Nightliner5.70ExcellentA great, coffee-flavoured Porter that was well-worth a second pint.

A pleasant atmosphere in here tonight. Not too busy and some of the comfy chairs available.
BeerABVScoreNotes
East London (ELB) - Three Kings3.80GoodA nicely-balanced Golden Ale.
Hand Brew - Dap Session Pale3.80PoorA murky gold colour. Not to my liking. Either a poorly balanced beer, with watery hop flavours, or a rogue cask that had gone wrong. I failed to finish my pint.
East London (ELB) - Foundation Bitter4.20Not Tried
Hackney - American Pale Ale4.50Not Tried

Sunday evening is always a very pleasant session in here and I popped in on my way home from Essex for a couple of leisurely pints and a listen to the live music.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Arbor Ales - Shangri-la4.20ExcellentA gorgeous, golden and fruity Session IPA.
Northern Whisper - Blighty3.80PoorThis was horrible and I left without finishing my pint. Very sweet and malty and tasting faintly of marzipan, which is not a good taste in a beer. I cannot believe that it was meant to taste like this.

Just time for a quick pint and sausage roll supper before football at Brisbane Road.

A lunchtime visit. The pub is steadily filling ahead of football at Brisbane Road.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Adnams - Nut Brown4.00AcceptableI’m pleased to catch up with this beer, although this pint is not a prime one being a little bit close to the end of the barrel.

Early evening. The police have closed the Leyton Orient Supporters Club as part of the sneaky subterfuge to get the O’s game with Colchester to a conclusion. A very large number of people have moved on here and it is exceptionally crowded. There were more beers available than I have remembered for the list here.

I’m too late for an early evening event on behalf of the Leyton Orient Fans Trust fundraising campaign, although not too late to buy some raffle tickets it seems.

The pub is found in Leyton, Greater London, E10 5OJ.

In High Road, initially this pub existed as a short-term ‘Pop-Up’ pub, open for the duration of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Then closed for nearly a year, it re-opened on a permanent basis in August 2013. The pub is housed in part of the former Leyton Town Hall. It has several different rooms in which to drink, and the toilets are housed deep in the dungeons. The interior of the pub is now very much more homely and comfortable than it appears in my early photo on this site from its pop-up days. Reclaimed by landlord and closed on October 2022, after alleged non-payment of rent. Re-opened under operation of Remarkable Pubs with a change of name in September 2024.

We have visited this pub 125 times, seen 256 different beers and tried 139 of them.
