Pleasant and comfortable in the mid-evening.
Five Points - Railway Porter | 4.80 | | Black, roasty and creamy, but not ‘derailed’. |
Sambrook's - American Red Ale | 4.20 | | I enjoyed this very much. Quite light for the style, with some very tasty hops. |
Reunion - Frost Fair | 4.50 | | A dark Winter Ale, this pint seemingly quite heavily spiced (cloves I think were the dominant taste). |
Sharp's - Coaster (or Cornish Coaster) | 3.60 | Not Tried
East London (ELB) - Foundation Bitter | 4.20 | Not Tried
Reunion - Opening Gambit | 3.80 | Not Tried
Five Points - XPA | 4.00 | Not Tried | Ran out. |
26 Dec 2017 (Stephen Harris)
Quite a few people moved on to here when the Orient Supporters Club bar closed in the late afternoon. The pub may well have been empty otherwise.
Five Points - Brick Field Brown | 5.40 | | I always enjoy this one. |
Signature Brew - Nightliner | 5.70 | | A great, coffee-flavoured Porter that was well-worth a second pint. |
East London (ELB) - Foundation Bitter | 4.20 | Not Tried
Signature Brew - Session | 4.00 | Not Tried
Volden - Session (or Session Ale) | 3.80 | Not Tried
East London (ELB) - Three Kings | 3.80 | Not Tried
11 Dec 2017 (Stephen Harris)
A pleasant atmosphere in here tonight. Not too busy and some of the comfy chairs available.
East London (ELB) - Three Kings | 3.80 | | A nicely-balanced Golden Ale. |
Hand Brew - Dap Session Pale | 3.80 | | A murky gold colour. Not to my liking. Either a poorly balanced beer, with watery hop flavours, or a rogue cask that had gone wrong. I failed to finish my pint. |
East London (ELB) - Foundation Bitter | 4.20 | Not Tried
Hackney - American Pale Ale | 4.50 | Not Tried
Volden - Pale (formerly Pale Ale) was 4.6% | 4.20 | Not Tried
Tiny Rebel - Juicy | 4.80 | Not Tried
03 Dec 2017 (Stephen Harris)
Sunday evening is always a very pleasant session in here and I popped in on my way home from Essex for a couple of leisurely pints and a listen to the live music.
Arbor Ales - Shangri-la | 4.20 | | A gorgeous, golden and fruity Session IPA. |
Northern Whisper - Blighty | 3.80 | | This was horrible and I left without finishing my pint. Very sweet and malty and tasting faintly of marzipan, which is not a good taste in a beer. I cannot believe that it was meant to taste like this. |
Hackney - Best Bitter | 4.40 | Not Tried
Adnams - Mosaic Pale Ale | 4.10 | Not Tried
Signature Brew - Signature Pale | 4.10 | Not Tried
Volden - Porter | 5.20 | Not Tried
Volden - Session (or Session Ale) | 3.80 | Not Tried
24 Oct 2017 (Stephen Harris)
Just time for a quick pint and sausage roll supper before football at Brisbane Road.
Adnams - Wild Hop | 4.80 | | I found this a bit insipid, although I noticed that only one more pint was pulled before the barrel ran out. |
Siren Craft - Sound Wave | 5.60 | Not Tried
Signature Brew - Backstage IPA | 5.60 | Not Tried
Volden - Pale (formerly Pale Ale) was 4.6% | 4.20 | Not Tried
21 Oct 2017 (Stephen Harris)
A lunchtime visit. The pub is steadily filling ahead of football at Brisbane Road.
Adnams - Nut Brown | 4.00 | | I’m pleased to catch up with this beer, although this pint is not a prime one being a little bit close to the end of the barrel. |
East London (ELB) - Nightwatchman | 4.50 | Not Tried
Signature Brew - Backstage IPA | 5.60 | Not Tried
Volden - Pale (formerly Pale Ale) was 4.6% | 4.20 | Not Tried
Volden - Session (or Session Ale) | 3.80 | Not Tried
12 Aug 2017 (Stephen Harris)
Mid-evening and watching a bit of the athletics from down the road on the big screen here.
Adnams - Mosaic Pale Ale | 4.10 | | I do like a spot of Mosaic hop. Best beer of the day. |

Volden - Pale (formerly Pale Ale) was 4.6% | 4.20 | Not Tried
Volden - Summer | 4.20 | Not Tried
08 Aug 2017 (Stephen Harris)
A quick, late-evening pint after watching football at nearby Brisbane Road. Tonight is this pub's fourth anniversary.

Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried
Hackney - Best Bitter | 4.40 | Not Tried
Sambrook's - Lavender Hill (originally exclusively for Nicholson's) | 4.50 | Not Tried
Hackney - American Pale Ale | 4.50 | Not Tried
Volden - Session (or Session Ale) | 3.80 | Not Tried
29 Apr 2017 (Stephen Harris)
Early evening. The police have closed the Leyton Orient Supporters Club as part of the sneaky subterfuge to get the O’s game with Colchester to a conclusion. A very large number of people have moved on here and it is exceptionally crowded. There were more beers available than I have remembered for the list here.
Adnams - Oyster Stout | 4.30 | | Another fine beer on great form. |
Wild Beer Co. - Bibble | 4.20 | | A fine beer on great form. |
Sambrook's - Wandle | 3.80 | Not Tried
Volden - Session (or Session Ale) | 3.80 | Not Tried
01 Apr 2017 (Stephen Harris)
I’m too late for an early evening event on behalf of the Leyton Orient Fans Trust fundraising campaign, although not too late to buy some raffle tickets it seems.
Cronx - Nektar | 4.50 | | A malty, golden pint. |
Adnams - Ghost Ship | 4.50 | Not Tried
Volden - Pale (formerly Pale Ale) was 4.6% | 4.20 | Not Tried
