Evening. Well run house with relaxed atmosphere. Amused when someone asked the strength of the Kentish Pip real cider and was told "anything between 5 and 6 per cent".

12:00 visit. Not been in here for a year or so but nice to see that nothing changes:) David the bar men is still behind the helm and I recognise many familular faces :)

Last port of call before the train and we ended up staying for a few hours thanks to the bar billiards table. Sat outside and saw off the last of the sunshine before heading indoors.

Tudor style, low ceilinged pub with U-shaped bar counter which is close to Canterbury West railway station. A corridor leads to the toilets and then a well appointed garden. Good selection of beers and a cider served in good condition. 5 handpumps. CAMRA Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable Branch Pub of the Year 2014.
