Had a little while before my train so called in here for a quick half. Very quiet and relaxing in here with most patrons in the back garden.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 73.80ExcellentLong time since I had sampled this, a classic English quaffing bitter, dark amber with good bicuity malt character and a little background hop bitterness. My score 16/20.

I'd love to see a bit more variety with the ales in here. However, it is still a charming pub that you know you can get a decent pint of beer in.

Saturday lunchtime and quiet except for the conversation about the Simpsons and the knifey spoony skit.

Unfortunately the Shere Drop ran out as it was being poured. I think the Canterbury Ales was going to come on next but I left to get an earlier train home.

Decent set of locals in. You can follow the beers at the pub on Twitter @unicorninn. Canterbury Ales Reeves Ale appearing as soon as the Doom Bar runs out.

Yes I like this place, proper pub rather than the tourists you get in the centre
BeerABVScoreNotes
Whitstable - Pearl of Kent4.50GoodFunny, I went through a period of not liking these beers from this brewery, but the last 2 I have had have been good. Lovely rose petal citrus notes
Ringwood - Razorback3.80AcceptableVery malty bitter

For some reason this pub always reminds me of a bus station waiting room. Ian disagreed. Anyway there were lots of people sitting around the horseshoe bar with more out in the garden.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Whitstable - Pearl of Kent4.50GoodI like Pearl hops and so, not surprisingly, I like this beer. Unfortunately I'd had a salad-kebab on the way up to the pub which had consisted of mainly raw onion so I couldn't actually taste much more than onion when drinking this.

Very convenient pub for Canterbury West Station. I stopped off here for one on the way to the KM Big Quiz just up the road. The food offer here seemed very popular 2 meals for not much money.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hopdaemon - Golden Braid3.70ExcellentOne of the best pints of this I've had in some time. Fresh and lovely. Yes, hoppy, but not overly so with a little biscuit malt on the swallow.
