Second and last stop on our wander of Canterbury. This pub is just a lovely place to be, if they stepped up their beer range then they'd easily be the best pub in canterbury in my opinion. Good eclectic crowd and friendly staff.
Ringwood - Razorback | 3.80 | | I've always liked Ringwood beers, they're simple yet effective. Good best bitter. |
Whitstable - Cockle Warmer | 4.70 | | Not a fan of this brewery and not really a fan of this beer. Dark malty bitter, strange afteratste. Meh. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried

Decent number of people in. Really just came to pick up a couple of bottles of the Hopdaemon Green Daemon for a beer tasting.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Seasider | 4.30 | | Lacked a bit of condition, but the biscuity malt shone through. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried

Last stop on the crawl and probably the best place too. Pub quiz was on. The Hopdaemon Green Daemon in bottle was the beer of the day. Stunning hops and really so drinkable in the mouth.
Crouch Vale - Blackwater Mild | 3.70 | | Brilliant condition, good choc and coffee. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried

Just had time for one before my train went up to Sturry to go to the Butcher’s Arms. Good mix of locals and a couple of tourists, which is odd to find them this far out of the centre.
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | | A decent blond ale, with a good hoppy finish. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried
King & Barnes (now see and use Badger entries) - Sussex Best Bitter | 3.50 | Not Tried

Session beer heaven at this pub this evening.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | | That is such a good session beer. Good malts, hop sting, some fruit. Lovely. Good condition. Even out of my face, I could tell that this was a good beer. Really drew me up short. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
King & Barnes (now see and use Badger entries) - Sussex Best Bitter | 3.50 | Not Tried
Banks's - Young's London Original (was Bitter) - previously brewed in Bedford and at Wychwood | 3.70 | Not Tried

Wanted a game of bar billiards aso stopped here before our train back. I really like this place but I do wish they'd be a bit more adventurous with their ales.
Hopdaemon - Skrimshander IPA | 4.50 | | Not a great pint of this. Quite sharp and not very well rounded. Disappointing really. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried
Ringwood - Razorback | 3.80 | Not Tried

It was pretty miserable outside, so nice to get inside. Unfortunately the billiards was taken the whole time we were here. One of my favourite pubs in canterbury.
Hopdaemon - Golden Braid | 3.70 | | Really light, sweet bitter. Very refreshing and easy to drink. |
Ringwood - Razorback | 3.80 | | Sweet and malty, surprisdingly good. I remembered it being more bland. |
Cottage - Golden Arrow | 4.50 | | Pretty standard pale ale. Quite sweet and relatively refreshing, not bad. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried

I initially went to the Eight Bells around the corner but it was inexplicably shut, so I came here. I found a seat to the side and just stared into space. The barman seemed to be from Yorkshire and I noticed that he didn’t crack a smile the whole time I was there. All in all I enjoyed my brief visit.
Ringwood - Razorback | 3.80 | | Exactly what I wanted. Hint of toffee apple, hint of stawberry, good red fruit. Very drinkable best bitter. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried
Whitstable - Pearl of Kent | 4.50 | Not Tried

Fair few in with a good locals atmosphere. Played a fair few games of bar billiards while we waited for the train.
King & Barnes (now see and use Badger entries) - Sussex Best Bitter | 3.50 | | Basic, malty best bitter. Nothing offensive here, but then again nothing particularly exciting either. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried
