A quiet Saturday afternoon. We sat upstairs and had the place almost to ourselves, and enjoyed not having to watch football. The music that was played ranged from Led Zeppelin to Onward Christian Soldiers.
Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | | A new cask on. Served a little too warm. |
Shepherd Neame - Canterbury Jack | 3.50 | | Suffering from the heat, and a little hazy. Citrus flavours, particularly grapefruit. |

Used the free wifi for the first time today and it works really well excellent connection speed. Music better this time round, the Jimi Hendrix All Along the Watchtower was really good. Sat upstairs doing web type stuff.
Hogs Back - Tongham TEA (previously T.E.A.) | 4.20 | | Very drinkable brown standard bitter. Mind you, it's no Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter that is just 5 mins up the road at The Pilot. Just waiting for 25 mins til the pub opens. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Brewster's - Hop a Doodle Doo | 4.30 | Not Tried | Went off as I ordered a pint, damn, I love that beer. But shows the quality of the beers they get here. |

Rudgate - Marston Moor Brewers Droop | 5.00
Kelham Island (probably brewed by Thornbridge now) - Captain | 6.00 | | Slips down dangerously easily for a 6% beer. A hoppy, and bitter IPA. |

I was just recovering from how excellent the London Porter in The Pilot was, when Chris introduces me to this gem. I was sat amazed at how good this pub is. Beautiful Tudor building. Pool table, food, Wii nights but still you can sit upstairs listening to the ecletic music mix and enjoying the original wooden beams and the beer. Pump clips on the wall display previous beers on and looking at those, the line up is normally pretty good.
Acorn - Old Moor Porter | 4.40 | | Fresh in mouth, bit of charcoal. Great mouthfeel. Lovely porter. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Young's London Special (was Special) | 4.50 | Not Tried
Nelson - Shiver M' Timbers | 4.70 | Not Tried
