Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

BlairPoor12 Feb 2010 I didn't like this before and I don't like it now. Overly sweet with a malty/creamy flavour to it. A poorly executed beer in my opinion.
BlairUndrinkable26 Sep 2008 Smelled and tasted of vinegar. The barman begrudgingly changed it after I asked him the second time.

AndrewGood24 Aug 2008 For some reason I thought this would be a dark mild - but it wasn't. It was a pale brown coloured beer. Earthy peaty beer with a hint of whiskey and a hint of astringency on the finish.
IanGood24 Aug 2008 Distinctive Nelson yeast on aroma. In the mouth the malts are good, some roast, and then quite parching hop finish. It's a pleasing beer, lots of flavour and I was quite impressed.

AndrewGood20 Jul 2006 Golden beer. Tasted of sharp horses urine (but not unpleasant so I don't quite know what I meant by this) with a smell of syrup.
