Very busy, not a spare seat to be had on a Tuesday evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
B&T (Banks & Taylor's) - Albion Ale4.00AcceptableSweetish golden beer with a sweetish aroma, sweetish citrus hop notes and a slightly smokey malt flavour. Not very well balanced. My score 14/20.

RCH - Fiery Liz5.00Not Tried
11 Oct 2011 (Martin the Mildman)
Very busy, standing room only mid evening on a Tuesday.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Salopian - Vapour Trail4.00AcceptablePale bitter with an assertive sharp and bitter hop character. Little malt balance. A little to harsh for my taste. My score 14/20.
04 Jun 2011 (Martin the Mildman)
Very busy with England football fans congregating before the match at Wembley.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hydes - Ship Shape4.20AcceptableGolden ale dominated by a grainy, cereally malt taste. Little hoppiness to balance. The finish is of biscuity malt. My score 14/20.
02 Apr 2011 (Martin the Mildman)
BeerABVScoreNotes
Leeds - Doubting Tom4.00GoodVery pale hoppy bitter. One of the hops used was Sorachi, although must have been a small amount as it was barely perceptible, more citrussy hops like cascade coming through more strongly to give a clean, refreshing finish. My score 15/20.
Inveralmond - Old Brig4.00AcceptableMalty red coloured ale with the characteristic sticky, cloying taste of crystal malt. The finish is dry and bitter. My score 14/20.
02 Nov 2010 (Martin the Mildman)
BeerABVScoreNotes
Cains - Voyager4.40GoodVery sweet and malty with very little hoppiness. Not one for hopheads. My score 15/20.
Harviestoun - Wild Hop IPA4.20AcceptableStrong amber bitter with a strong, bitter, earthy hop flavour. Very little maltiness to speak of. My score 14/20.

04 Jul 2009 (Wittenden)
Quietly busy with mid Saturday morning trade
BeerABVScoreNotes
Westerham - Single Hop Challenger4.00ExcellentThe underground was like Dante's Inferno: this was ideally refreshing:golden with a fresh aspect. I need to try the rest of this range to "learn my hops". I greatly like Westerham beers; I've rarely been let down.
04 Mar 2009 (Ian)
I had a meeting just around the corner so popped in on my way down to Borough Market. Busy as it is in a railway station.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Freeminer - Honey Dipper4.60GoodGold, lasting white head. Good condition. Honey really shines thorough. gives it some sweetness, but keeps its balance. I liked it very much. Good honey and flavour balanced by hop. Good.

29 Jan 2008 (Ian)
I had a seminar up in London, not far from Liverpool Street station, so I thought I would make the most of my good fortune and nip in for a pint afterwards. OK Spoons.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)3.40ExcellentSo drinkable it makes you cry. The sherberty biting citrus hop just lasts and lasts. Just a tad watery in mouth.
Hook Norton - Double Stout4.80AcceptableDeep ruby/brown with little beige head. Roasty stout. Maybe overly roasted with liquorice too. Some condition. But a little thin in mouth. Too much liquorice for my liking. Toffee, caramel aroma, maybe a touch of diacetyl. Odd and not to my taste.
