Mid afternoon. I have been coming to this village for many years, but never been in this pub. Shame as it is excellent. Friendly landlord and I watched the Tour de France final time trial stage. Stayed here for an hour or so watching the climax of the race.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Goacher's - Best Dark Ale (aka Original)4.10ExcellentAndrew and I always say that this beer is Goachers for the Goachers drinker. Look wonderful, clear deep amber with thick bubbly cream head. Tastes fresh. Lovely toasty roasty malt. Rich yet agile. Not quite as intense as the pint at Xmas at the Black Lion, Lynsted, but still very very good. Little bit of milky coffee.
Goacher's - Gold Star5.10GoodIt's ok. Bit sickly on the sweetish alcohol and malts. But it's alright. Some citrus/peach on finish. Not perfect, but prety good, bit of hop sting on the finish.

Central bar serves smaller room with dartboard and main bar. Very attractive bar with lots of wood, wooden beams and hops hung from the ceiling. Rear patio for good weather and gazebo for smokers. Lots of stripped brickwork. 8 handpumps on bar. Prints of old West Malling / Kent on walls. Perhaps the least spoilt of West Malling's pubs.

We have visited this pub 62 times, seen 128 different beers and tried 96 of them.
