2 beers on. 2 black pearls in the cellar but they should last till after lockdown. Mel was very happy with the lions long awaited entry into the gbg.

At first we thought we might not get in here but the lady behind the bar found a table for us. This pub is participating in the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme, the food here is limited to crisps or peanuts so we enjoyed some half price crisps.

Busy corner pub right in the centre of town in King Street. Attracts a mostly alternative crowd and there will often be heavy rock music on the jukebox. Several large TV screens for sport enthusiasts. There is a raised area to the rear. 3 handpumps on the lower bar counter. Deservedly awarded a CAMRA Good Beer Guide entry for 2021.
