Visits Details

05 Feb 2013 (Wittenden)
We sat in the cosy chairs in the bar before it got busy,so we moved into the Top Parlour and listened to the Minster Bells. Comfortably busy with drinkers and diners on a cold February Tuesday evening. This pub has a welcoming atmosphere and interesting customers.

Copper Dragon - IPA3.60ExcellentA reassuring gold to amber lightweight IPA.A touch of the austere about the hops.
Old Mill - Traditional Bitter3.90GoodHad a taster of this: a good traditional bitter.
Ossett - Yorkshire Blonde3.90AcceptableVery pale and thin. Rather disappointing from this brewery.

Very busy late on a Saturday afternoon. Not a seat to be had.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Copper Dragon - Black Gold3.70GoodRare to find this mild in a pub. Dark brown and dryish with a roasted malt character and some hop bitterness in the finish. My score 15/20.
